Stratford East, Discover Children's Story Centre, ZAPspace, Stratford Circus and Picturehouse are temporarily closing their doors to the public.
Stratford Circus Arts Centre to close until 30th June
WED 18 MARCH 2020
"In light of government advice on the COVID-19 outbreak, it is with great regret that we announce that all performances of scheduled shows, creative learning activities and classes are now cancelled and the building will be closed to the public until 30th June. Though this has not been an easy decision, the safety of our audiences, community and neighbours is of utmost importance.
We will be honouring agreements with the artists scheduled to be in our Spring season and will do everything we can to support anyone affected by our closure. Our front of house team will be in touch to inform all bookers shortly who will discuss the refund process and your options. As a registered charity, we would be incredibly grateful if you could consider donating all or a portion of your ticket cost, however we understand that these are difficult times and of course this may not be possible.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our entire community for the incredible support you have shown us in the past week during an incredibly uncertain time for our organisation. It has been amazing to see such a display of love and support at a time when we all need to unite and take care of each other.
All the best and stay well,
The Stratford Circus Team x"
"Following government guidance on the Covid-19 outbreak, Discover will be temporarily closed from Wednesday 18 March until further notice. We are planning for closure until the end of April but will reevaluate as government guidance changes in the coming weeks. Do continue to check our website and social media where we will update as things progress. If you have already purchased tickets for a visit before the end of April, please check your inbox for an email from our bookings team regarding our refund policy.
As a charity, income from customers buying tickets, visiting the shop and café and hiring space contributes substantially to our revenue. Whilst Discover is following government guidance to remain closed, we are facing the loss of funds from not being able to welcome visitors into the building. If you would like to donate to help Discover through this period, you can donate at: discover.org.uk/support-us
We would appreciate your support at this crucial time, which will help our operations continue whilst we look forward to reopening. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Many thanks for your support".
"ZAPSPACE TRAMPOLINE PARK, Stratford has closed all of its recreation facilities and classes effective from 9am Tuesday 17th March 2020. We are following government advice to avoid unnecessary gatherings and will remain closed until that advice changes. The safety of the public and our employees is our main priority. We will continue to be guided by government officials to protect the community and visitors from COVID-19. Thank you to all our loyal customers for your understanding at this time."
"In these extraordinary and anxious times, we have been in constant discussion with our staff, artists and theatre colleagues across the country.
In view of the government’s advice yesterday afternoon (Mon 16 Mar), we have now decided to cancel all remaining performances of Frantic Assembly’s I THINK WE ARE ALONE, and to close the theatre to the public until further notice. Though this is with a heavy heart, the wellbeing of both our staff and the wider community is our biggest priority.
Theatre Royal Stratford East is a beloved cornerstone of the local community as well as the London theatre landscape and we are determined to survive this closure and to return with gusto, with new and exciting shows to entertain you all when this is all over! If you feel able to donate to the theatre at this time, your support would mean a lot and go a long way to ensuring that we survive.
We will be in touch with all ticket bookers over the coming days - please bear with us.
Nadia Fall, Artistic Director"
