On the 17th of July, we held an event to launch our renewal ballot proposal. On the evening we shared the results from recent consultations and introduced our Moving Stratford Forward proposal document for the period 2020 – 2025.

March 2020 marks the end of the BIDs first term. From 1st October to 31st October 2019, eligible local businesses will have the chance to express their support for another five years in the renewal ballot. You can also find more information on our dedicated renewal ballot website page.

You can find all the images from the event here.

On the evening, representatives from Sarah Bonnell School presented the CitySafe Heaven project which invites local businesses to help prevent trouble by offering temporary shelter to young people in immediate danger.

Giulia Faggio from London City University presented ‘Evolution of crime in Stratford Original and neighbouring areas, 2012Q1-2019Q1’ which is the part of a larger project she’s been working on, aimed at evaluating the impact of BIDs around the UK on reducing crime. You can find the full presentation in the attachment.

The Mayor of Newham, Rokhsana Fiaz attended the event and had a chance to speak to BID members, board representatives and the BID’s executive team.

Thank you again to Mexicasa for the hospitality and great food and to London City University for kindly sponsoring the event.

Let’s Move Stratford Forward together. We hope we can count on your YES vote this October.
