On Sunday 29 May 2022, RideLondon will return after a more than two-year absence with a new format and stunning new routes in London and Essex.
Bring the family and experience RideLondon FreeCycle.  With eight miles of traffic-free roads in central London to enjoy, plus a number of activity filled festival zones, it’s a perfect way for families to see some of London’s most famous landmarks by bike and it's completely free.

Spectators are also encouraged to come along, enjoy the day and celebrate cycling. There will be three inspiration rides: RideLondon - Essex 10060 and 30 , where more than 20,000 cyclists are raising funds for charity. There is also the opportunity to watch the final stage of  RideLondon Classique, a three-day Women’s WorldTour stage race for the best female riders in the world.

The iconic 100-mile distance is the longest challenge ride in the RideLondon programme. It has been part of RideLondon since it was first held in 2013, with the first seven editions starting and finishing in London with a loop of Surrey in between.

The brand new route for 2022 will see participants set off from Victoria Embankment in central London and into Essex via the historic Epping Forest. Once in Essex, riders will glide past some of the county’s most picturesque towns and villages, including Ongar, Fyfield, the Rodings and Great Dunmow, before joining a section of the 2014 Stage Three Tour de France route.

That part of the course will guide riders through Felsted and around the county town of Chelmsford before heading through Writtle and back towards Ongar and central London. Once in central London, participants will then complete their ride to rapturous applause at Tower Bridge – a stunning Finish Line for the 100-mile challenge.

There will be street closures on the day affecting Stratford:

The Broadway & Stratford High Street: between 04.00 am - 18.30

West Ham Lane: between 4.00 am - 11.30 am
