Your Neighbourhood Talks - COP 26 Net Zero Carbon
Tuesday 19 October, 6pm - 8.30pm
Timber Lodge, 1A Honour Lea Avenue, London, E20 1DY

It’s your Neighbourhood, so let’s talk about it! Join your local community at Timber Lodge in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on 19 October, 6 – 8.30pm for a special Your Neighbourhood Talks. This event will focus on Zero Carbon living and the potential impacts of Climate Change to the lives of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park communities, business, and organisations. There will be a panel discussion and a marketplace running throughout the evening. The marketplace is a great opportunity to talk to representatives from a variety of organisations about their work on the Park and the surrounding area and any plans they may have. This event will be an opportunity to connect, share, learn and identify opportunities to collaborate locally to support each other on our journey to a more sustainable future.

Marketplace

The marketplace is an opportunity for stakeholders to have a ‘stall’ and informally talk to attendees about who they are, what they do, and what their zero carbon ambitions are for their organisation, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and beyond. It offers members of the community the opportunity to engage directly with partners, ask questions, share ideas, and identify opportunities for collaboration or support.

Panel discussion

Anticipating a lively, challenging, and inspirational debate that will explore practical challenges and ambitions as well as personal views and goals for more sustainable living. The panellists will consist of 6 speakers living or working at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and will include representation from students, residents, community organisations, businesses, and institutions.

Vox Pops

Throughout the evening our Vox Pop team will be on hand asking for opinions on the subject of the day. With your permission the team will make a short audio recording that will help to build a useful record of people’s experiences, thoughts, and opinions.

How to find it

This event will take place at Timber Lodge, based in the north of the Park.
It is a 15-minute walk from both Stratford and Hackney Wick stations. There are also a number of local buses stopping nearby including the 339 and D8.
