Screen on the green

June - July 2018
On Thursday 14th June, Stratford Original the Business Improvement District for Stratford town centre launched Screen on the Green in St Johns Church garden for the local community to enjoy a summer of sport and free activities.

Screen on the Green is a month-long community event where locals, residents, workers and people from near and far can sit back and relax and watch the World Cup and Wimbledon for free on the big screen every day between 14th June and 15th July. Each weekend across the month there is a range of fun family activities to get involved with including hula hooping lessons, gardening workshops, poetry classes, tennis skills, storytelling and arts and crafts to name a few.

There is also a series of free film screenings showing sporting classics like Bend it like Beckham and Wimbledon to the latest blockbusters including Black Panther and The Greatest Showman.

On Sunday 8th July there is a family screening day which includes a sing-a-long Frozen special and free popcorn, one not to be missed!

This year’s screen has been sponsored by WheyHey.

Over 20,000 people visited Screen on the Green over a month.
