Balance and Well-being with Alice Billings Connects Programme
Alice Billings Connects cultural programme is pleased to announce their event on 25th May in the Town hall/Alice Billings Courtyard.
Following on from Mental Health Awareness week, this event will encompass a series of sensory activations promoting calm and positivity. Their aim to create a moment of reflection on our high street and allow people time to connect and switch off. Along with this event we will also be activating Eve De Haan’s ‘ Its Nicer to be Nice’ installation opposite The Grove to give a sensory experience for local residents to retreat and connect with others.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Sense Collective: Meditative Sounds
Multimedia platform bringing trans-disciplinary art practitioners together to explore, reflect and connect through their work. The collective will be playing meditative sounds during the afternoon from 14:30 in conjunction with the art workshops, yoga and meditation.
Yoga and meditation with Kim Gichinga
Kim will be kicking off the day at 14:45 with a 30 minute Yoga session in the courtyard followed by 15 minutes of meditation. Kim has been a Yoga teacher for 5 years now and has lived in Newham her whole life. Culture, community and wellbeing are close to her heart.
Join us for a creative workshop of self expression. Pin your artworks up in the courtyard to create an assemblage of artworks that represent the identity of the community.
Immersive Installation "It's Nicer to be Nice"
Eve De Haan’s Its nicer to be Nice installation will be landing on the high street. This installation aims to bring an immersive and sensory experience for local residents to retreat and connect with others.
Discover it from 16:00. Stewards will direct you to its location on the high street
