We believe every woman has the right to feel safe when travelling, working or going out at night. That’s why we’ve signed up to the seven pledges in the Mayor of London’s Women’s Night Safety Charter. As a night-time organisation, there are things we can do to help make London safer for women at night.
For us, that means things like showing our staff and customers that we take women’s night safety seriously. It means making sure that message is shared with everyone who needs to hear it. It means having a staff member who actively promotes women’s safety at night.
For our customers and staff, it means reminding them what they should do if they experience any problems when they’re out and about. It also means training our staff to deal with any issues that women tell us about in a sensitive manner.
And it means encouraging everyone to report incidents, whether it happens to them or to someone else. Finally, it means designing our public spaces and workplaces to make them as safe as possible for women at night. Together, we can make London a city where all women feel confident, welcome, and safe – whatever the time is.
