From Saturday, October the 17th, the Government moved London into the high-level alert level.
The restrictions apply from now on:
- Londoners will be banned from mixing with other households indoors. This includes in homes, pubs and restaurants. When outdoors, Londoners must not socialise in a group larger than 6 people.
- Single person households can continue to form a bubble with another household.
- New rules for exercising. Exercise classes can continue outdoors, but indoor classes will only be permitted if it’s possible to avoid mixing with people outside your household.
- Londoners should aim to reduce the number of journeys they take. If you need to use public transport, do so on off-peak times and wear a face covering for the entire journey.
- Businesses and venues can continue to operate, in a COVID-secure manner, other than those that remain closed in law.
- Pubs, restaurants and other hospitality venues will still close at 10pm. Customers will still need to wear a face covering at all times, apart from when seated to eat or drink, and staff will need to wear a face covering at all times.
- Schools, universities and places of worship will remain open. The restrictions on numbers at weddings and funerals will still apply.
