Explore Stratford
Stratford has a full and rich history dating back to the early 1800’s. St John’s Church, the famous markets, and the old town hall are just a few gems in the town centre that make the area truly unique.
Stratford Past
Stratford has historically been important point for travellers to it’s location near the River Lee. From our Roman origins to a medieval village, Stratford has always been transforming. In the 1830’s Stratford became an industrial hub with the arrival of the railway, triggering the population boom and establishment of factories, workshops and industrial facilities. Our district represents the ‘original’ Stratford.
