Stratford History

Stratford has historically been important point for travellers to it’s location near the River Lee. From our Roman origins to a medieval village, Stratford has always been transforming. In the 1830’s Stratford became an industrial hub with the arrival of the railway, triggering the population boom and establishment of factories, workshops and industrial facilities. Our district represents the ‘original’ Stratford.
